Shipping your Copier

Many people pay close attention to the start of their lease but don’t consider what happens when it finishes up. People make too many assumptions and end up paying a lot out of pocket because of it. One of the biggest mistakes is not paying attention to what happens in regards to shipping your copier. This is something you absolutely need to be aware of if you are concerned about saving money.

The false assumption that many people make is that their leasing company will take care of shipping. They think that it is the companies job to pick the office machine up at the end of the lease. This is not always the case. Many times they leave it up to you to figure out how to get your machine back.

This is done on purpose to try and manipulate you. It costs copier leasing companies far less to ship a copier than it will cost you. They know this and use it as a way to bully you into another lease. They will say that they will pay the shipping cost if you sign another lease with them. That could mean saving you hundreds on shipping, but it means you have to deal with the same sleazy company again.

Look at your lease and see what it says about shipping your copier. Know who is in charge of that and what you plan to do about it. If it is up to you then we recommend doing research early. Don’t wait until the last minute to figure out shipping for your copier; it will only lead to wasted money and a headache if you aren’t paying attention.
